OPEN MEETING

There will be an open meeting today at 1pm in the Latimer Room, Old Court, Clare College to discuss where to take the campaign next.

All are invited, there will also be a further meeting later next week.

  1. I cannot believe that an occupation like this did not create any disruption or inconvenience to the students and other staff who needed to use the building. I disagree that this is a democratic way of protesting. There are other ways of getting peoples attentions and other ways to make the university do something. This, however is not the right way. If you cannot make it through the other (democratic) channels than unfortunately you have to live with it. That's the way democracy works. If this didn't create any disruption than why wouldn't the university just leave people there ...
    I am generally against occupations, this has nothing to do with this specific cause. I agree that Israelis and Palestinians need to find a better way to live peacefully alongside each other. However, under such circumstances I am not willing to discuss this further with anyone involved in the occupation and I wouldn't disagree if the University did the same.
